Eric Zemmour has his statue at Louver. On the night of Thursday 16 to Friday 17 December 2021, a red statue bearing the image of the candidate for the 2022 presidential election was installed without authorization in the grounds of the famous Parisian museum.
A Toulousain hides behind the work
This is not a militant act on the part of the supporters of Éric Zemmour. No, the people of Toulouse are recognized here for the unique style of the street artist James colomina, used to the installations of statues in the Pink City.
“I installed, without authorization, at the Louvre, this sculpture by Eric Zemmour which comes out of its box, of its pot”.
On this statue, the far-right candidate, who has just launched his political movement called “Reconquest”, is represented with a santa hat.
“The surprise Christmas invitation”
The artist explains that this work “represents ‘The surprise guest’ of Christmas, because everyone will have their opinion on Zemmour. I chose the Louvre, symbol of culture, to ask us about the presence of this guest in the near future ”.
For the Toulousain, the holiday season is often the occasion to mark the occasion. Last year, James Colomina announced in his own way “the trivialization of the misery of the homeless” by installing a sculpture ofEmmanuel Macron in the middle of tents, along the Canal Saint-Martin, in the 10e district of Paris.
