it starts today, Gasquet and Tsonga headlining
Until Sunday, the Rouen Open is held at the Kindarena. A high-standing Norman competition with distinguished guests: the French Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Richard Gasquet.
It is the most awaited event by tennis fans in the Rouen metropolis. Deprived of the tournament in 2020 due to the health crisis, more than 7,000 people are expected on the competition weekend with a guest of honor, the winner of the 1991 Davis Cup: Henri Leconte.
For Charles Roche, the organizer, it is a unique edition that we are attending this year. “It’s such a pleasure to be there. The biggest victory is to make the Rouen public happy again. It is the work of one that occurs so let’s all together benefit from the level and this magical room ”. Charles Roche, organizer of the Rouen Capfinances Open Focused on the training of Salma Djoubri, one of the participants, the organizer adds. ” We really do our utmost to make everything as safe as possible. Masks and health passes are compulsory, we have also added a lot of signage and the speaker will be present to remind you of the procedure without obviously blocking the atmosphere … that goes without saying.“
” She is beautiful that one! Exclaims the coach of Salma Djoubri, 16th French player, who sends a deadly backhand from the baseline. Charles Roche smiles. ” You see, this is what we are witnessing throughout the weekend. High-level as we like it. “And he does not think so well said, two guests monopolize the attention: Richard Gasquet, the impregnable left-hander and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, former world No. 5. The latter seems happy to get back in shape after two seasons marked by back injuries.
