For Ludovic Beyhurst, the leader of Limoges CSP, the trip to Monaco is “a great challenge”
What state of mind are you in before facing Monaco, a Euroleague group?
It’s exciting to play a team like that with big CVs and good players, including a very good one. It’s a great challenge for us.
You mean Mike James …
Necessarily. We see what he did in his last Euroleague match (20 points and 14 assists for 31 evaluation against Zalgiris, editor’s note). But it’s not just him on this team. In addition, with the arrival of the new coach (Sasa Obradovic), a new dynamic will perhaps be put in place. It will be necessary to be careful.

The change of coach further complicates the preparation for this match …
We try to prepare it as best we can. But it is sure that it will not be the same systems as since the start of the season. In addition, at the moment they have a lot of Euroleague matches (Monaco faces the Zénith this Friday evening). But we expect everything. We prepare as best as possible even if we do not know with what squad they will play. Whatever happens, it will be a very difficult game to play as they have a lot of rotations and they are prepared to go back to it that way. They will be in rhythm. Afterwards, we had the time to prepare for this meeting and to try to adjust as much as possible while they will have a lot less time than us.
We will have to respond to the physical challenge because it’s a very intense team.
Massimo Cancellieri was very upset after the performance of the CSP from Limoges to Orléans, how was the week following this defeat?
It is true that we foiled in Orléans. We had a bad game and we were all very disappointed with what we produced. On one saw what did not work. Suddenly, we had difficult training at the start of the week. I think that can make us react. We will try to show Monaco by regaining our defensive values that unfortunately we have not lost much in Orléans. We have to try to reproduce in a match what we do in training.
Your end of the calendar year promises to be complicated with this trip to Monaco and then another to Villeurbanne after the reception of Fos-sur-Mer. What are your ambitions for these three matches?
We did not set collective ambitions but we play every game to win, whether against ASVEL or Monaco. We have seen that they have already lost matches in the league, perhaps because they are a little tired of playing a series of matches. We will have to try to take advantage of it even if our end of the season is not a gift.
How will a possible exploit in Monaco go?
We will have to keep them within our defensive standards for 40 minutes, without slacking off. We will have to respond to the physical challenge because it’s a very intense team. And offensively, we should not thwart in the face of their physical qualities. We will have to try to set up our game without suffering too much. We have to find our values.
Package in Orleans due to a sprained ankle, Nicolas Lang seems to be better but remains uncertain for this match in Monaco, according to the CSP. In addition, the Limousin staff will decide at the last moment which American player will take place in the stands.
