The SGS are optimistic about Cologne
Women’s Bundesliga: SGS Essen on Friday in Cologne.
To resist the last game day in the old year SGS Essen already on Friday (December 17th, 2021) in the cathedral city on 1. FC Cologne. It is the first match day in the second half of the season Women’s Bundesliga for the Essenes. Kick-off in the Franz Kremer Stadium is at 7.15 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on EUROSPORT and Magenta Sport.
After the 4-0 win against the Carl Zeiss Jena last weekend, the SGS is now at 1. FC in front of the door. The hosts could only draw one against the last weekend Sc freiburg drive in and are therefore only one point ahead of the Ruhr city residents.
It is therefore also clear that Essen has to leave the field as the winner against Cologne in order to be able to go into the winter break in eighth place. Since both teams split in the first leg with a draw (1: 1), pure excitement can be expected in this game until the last minute.
Balance per SGS
With the starting eleven debut of the only 17-year-old Felicitas Fee Kockmann Hat coach Markus Högner underpinned the philosophy of the association in Jena. The question arises as to which lineup Högner will choose in this NRW duel.
The statistics of the two clubs show that in twelve duels there were ten wins for SGS Essen and only one win for Cologne. Only one game ended in a draw.
Even if the statistics put the SGS on the flag of favorites, it will definitely not be a sure-fire success for the Schönebeckers. With full focus and commitment, the club, which has been playing in the top division for 18 years, earns points.
