Apparently a parcel delivery company in the city of Salzburg also wanted to benefit from the flourishing online trade at Christmas time. The 22-year-old, who worked for a delivery service, is said to have stolen 45 packages with electronic devices.
During a house search of the suspect Romanian yesterday, Wednesday, the officials found packaging remains from the packages. According to the police, the accused partially confessed.
Goods sent from electronics stores
The items that are closed in the packages have not yet been secured, said a police spokeswoman on Thursday at the APA request. The amount of damage is currently unknown. Since October there have been increasing complaints from addressees that the parcels have not arrived. The goods were sent almost exclusively by an electronics retail chain.
The deliverer has signed the confirmation himself
The suspect said he had put the parcels in front of the recipients’ doors and signed the confirmation himself. The man was reported. The investigation is in the direction of embezzlement.
