A Bordeaux, des radios vintage remises au goût du jour
It was while hunting in Bordeaux on the famous Saint-Michel market in 2018 that Guillaume Alday unearthed a nugget: an old radio from the 1930s. A post that no longer works, but which Guillaume undertakes, in his spare time, the restoration. He even manages to equip it with a state-of-the-art system with a 50 WATT cabinet, a bluetooth system and an auxiliary input. Faced with the enthusiasm of his friends who also brought him their old vintage sets, Guillaume then decided to create his company to restore old radios, called The Deans, and make it its main activity.
A strong comeback of the vintage
Help by the strong comeback of vintage in all decoration magazines, and by the consumption of music exploding in 2020 on streaming sites (+ 23.2% according to the study by the National Union of Phonographic Publishing) Guillaume quickly experiences success which allows him to live off his idea, and to offer different formulas: either you can from an old position, and he will makes an estimate to repair it for you, or he checks for second-hand positions himself and then resells them on his e-shop. An eco-responsible concept since everything is recycled, but which has a price: from 290 euros for basic repairs, prices which soar up to 700/800 euros for the rarest and oldest items.
