Call to strike at the SNCF, on the Intercités between Marseille and Bordeaux
A strike notice was filed by Sud-Rail, CGT and UNSA for the first weekend of the Christmas holidays on the south-eastern axis. The notice starts on December 16 at 7 p.m. This concerns Intercity trains, and not TGV or TER. In Occitania, the strike could thus impact the Bordeaux / Marseille crossroads. Sylvain Maestrini is UNSA regional secretary for rail, in Occitanie: “We’ve been alerting Intercités management for weeks on very difficult working conditions for aggression controllers, following an upsurge in jobs that have been repeated for several months. These are verbal and physical assaults. Today, verbal aggression is becoming the norm, and physical aggression is also now almost everyday.. “
“We’ve been alerting management for weeks. They don’t take us seriously. We have great fears about working conditions, about the safety of on-board personnel. We are asking for rapid measures to deal with it. Management turns a deaf ear, telling us that all is well on board these trains Sylvain Maestrini, UNSA regional secretary for rail, in Occitanie, on FB Gard Lozère
“The main demand is to have a second agent on the trains, adds Sylvain Maestrini. There are many Intercity trains, very long trains made up mainly of eight cars: often, the agent is alone on board the train to make the eight cars. Example a Bordeaux / Toulouse: if there is an incident on car One, and he is on car Eight, it is very complicated to manage, and when he is attacked, there is no one for him train lend a hand on this“
“We hope .. me in any case, I strongly hope that we will not need to get the controllers to do a single strike sequence” Sylvain Maestrini, UNSA regional secretary for rail, in Occitanie, on FB Gard Lozère
