A home for the Mozarteum Orchestra
Culture
The orchestra house of the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra opened 30 years ago. At that time the search for a hostel came to an end for many years. The anniversary celebration has to be postponed this year, and should be rescheduled for next year.
The murals have become colorful in the last 30 years and some of the interior of the orchestra house has been expanded or adapted. Particularly technical improvements have been made, said orchestra director Siegwald Bütow. They also want to use it more as an event venue. “That is why we are currently in the process of bringing it up to date with the latest technology. We will install new light, a new sound system has already been installed and there is a projector and a screen. ”For example, you want to organize music events with a film.
Home for the ensemble
The basic idea behind the construction of the orchestra house was to give the now 180-year-old ensemble a home. Before that, the orchestra had to move to different rooms for rehearsals and concerts. “It has become like a home for the musicians,” said Bütow. That is also one of the reasons why the orchestra sticks together so well, because they also have a common place, the orchestra director together.
31st anniversary celebration
Due to the Coronapande, the orchestra house was again increasingly promoted as an event location, a development that the orchestra would like to continue. The celebrations for the anniversary have been canceled for this year, but they want to make up for this in the summer with a summer party and an open house, said Bütow.
