Toulouse Métropole garbage collectors determined to disrupt the holidays
This is the end of a month that anger is roaring. There had been no call to strike until then. The Sud 31, FO, Unsa, FAFPT and FSU unions have just submitted a notice of renewable strike from Wednesday January 15, concerning all the staff of the Technical Resources Department.
Toulouse garbage collectors who candidate the deletion of the “finished party”, this working time arrangement, in place since the 1980s, which allows them to return home once their tour is over, regardless of the time. The Metropolis intends to apply it from January 1, 2022, citing security issues, the agents taking risks to finish as soon as possible.
At first, the unions had called for a form of work-to-rule, wanting that by applying future rules, they could not complete their tour. The community had been forced in recent weeks to use private providers.
The unions demand the maintenance of the finished one, but also the increase of an annual first, the tenure of the contractual ones or even days of hardship to compensate for the arduousness.
