Toulouse: Supaero Space Section has just been elected best student association in France
For the second year in a row, a Toulouse student association is the best in France. This is Supaero Space Section.
After the humanitarian office of Toulouse Business School (TBS), last year, it is the turn of Supaero Space Section to arrive at the top of the ranking of student associations in France, this year. Selected from more than 80 higher education establishments during the tenth edition of the Ranking of Associations, Toulouse residents were awarded prizes for their three current projects. “They relate to student experimental rockets. The first Aether seme, it is about a supersonic rocket entirely manufactured in Supaero, with a solid liquid engine, which one should launch, this summer, in Scotland “, announces Julien Amitrano, the current president of the association. Supaero Space Section. The other two projects are Scalar (a two-stage bi-propelled rocket) and PERSEUS, carried out by CNES with other schools.
Supaero has been participating in this competition for several years, “especially in the innovation section because we are carrying out fairly ambitious projects. It also allows us to have feedback on what we are doing, ”says the 21-year-old second-year engineering student in aeronautics. This year, the theme was innovation in the face of challenges linked to the health crisis. “To deal with covid, we had to work remotely. This allowed us to keep a very strong bond and to postpone the physical creation of the objects to possible dates. We did everything to ensure that the club does not stop, ”admits Julien Amitrano.
With this ranking, the Supaero Space Section association, which brings together 70 students, has therefore just been rewarded for its teamwork “on projects that work and are increasingly complex”.
“This prize enhances our work, we bring greater visibility and allows us to more easily canvass partners for these very expensive projects”, continues the president of the Toulouse association. And for the students, the fact of belonging to this association allows them to cultivate their team spirit, “to manage things as if we were in a small company and to have a global vision of the projects. “
If for the second year in a row, Toulouse associations are at the top of the association rankings, this testifies to the fact “that we like studying in Toulouse. When we are in a training that we like, we all the more want to invest and apply it in concert projects, supervised by referent professors and researchers ”, recognizes Julien Amitrano, who is himself. even from Grenoble.
