Created in 2007, the Caen Open will live its 14e edition at the end of the year. From December 14 to 17, the Zénith de Caen will vibrate to the rhythm of the yellow ball for the 10e year. The organizers have chosen to prepare the tables by making players never seen in Caen. “There was a need for new faces,” breathes Denis Agostini, the tournament director.
Thus, for the moment, only the Belgian David Goffin and the Caennais Jules Marie, winner of the qualifying tournament, have already participated in the Open de Caen. David Goffin even won the event in 2013. The name of the last male player should be announced soon. Apart from a coronation of Goffin, there will therefore be a new name to register for the men’s tournament.

Lucas Pouille, Ugo Humbert, Arthur Rinderknech or Benjamin Bonzi: four French people that the Caen public will discover during the Open.
“Lucas (Pouille) won the Davis Cup, played a Grand Slam semi-final in Australia, he’s a client,” said Denis Agostini. Back from injury, Lucas Pouille will want to thwart the predictions. The other three Habs had a magnificent 2021 season, propelling them into the Top 5 of French tennis players.
They are not known to the general public, but they are very good players, who serve hard, volley well. They are spectacular. The idea is to show young people for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
