Nowhere did so many take the third trick as in Salzburg
53.9 percent of people in Salzburg who have been completely immunized for more than four months have already had their booster vaccination.
When it comes to refreshments, the state of Salzburg is at the top of the comparison of the federal states: 159,093 people (as of yesterday, Monday) have already received their third trick. That is 53.9 percent of all people who were fully immunized more than four months ago. The vaccination coverage as of yesterday, Monday, is 64 percent of the total and 67.5 percent of the vaccinable population.
Booster vaccinations already have an impact on incidence
With 53.9 percent (as of yesterday, 6 December), the state of Salzburg is at the top nationwide for booster vaccinations, ahead of Tyrol (52.7 percent) and Vienna (51.6 percent). The Austrian average is 48.6 percent. “The high number of booster vaccinations is already clearly reflected in the falling incidence figures. This affects all age groups, but the decline was particularly strong among those over 55”, says Gernot Filipp, head of the state statistics.
Fürthauer: “The third trick is part of the basic immunization.”
Christoph Fürthauer, Vice President of the Salzburg Medical Association, is delighted with this development. At the same time, however, he points out that “right now one must not let up and die, the high willingness of the Salzburgers to maintain the booster vaccination must continue quickly”.
And Christoph Fürthauer also appeals: “The vaccination is the best protection against a severe course of Covid-19 disease. Fully immunized people also recover faster. Refreshing is therefore particularly important in order to maintain full protection against the virus – for all of them 18 years into old age. The booster vaccination is actually part of the basic immunization. There are enough appointments and vaccines. “
