San Marino accident, two deaths: goodbye to Elly, the girl who loved to skate
Milan, 6 December 2021 – Two young lives broken in an instant: that of Elly Mattiuzzo, eighteen year old from Milan who was figure skating champion competing with the Hot Shivers of Sesto San Giovanniand her boyfriend Daniele Volanti, nineteen year old from Rimini. both of them they died in a car accident on Saturday evening in San Marino, where the girl had moved with her family for a couple of years.According to an initial reconstruction of the dynamics, the couple traveled aboard a Fiat 500 along the Pedemontana, from the Castello di Borgo Maggiore towards Castello di Murata, when for reasons yet to be ascertained the car went out of control by invading the opposite lane and was hit by a Volkswagen that was moving in the opposite direction: the frontal impact was very violent, to the point of destroying the car of the two young people, who they died instantly. The man behind the wheel of the other vehicle, on the other hand, got away with minor injuries. A third car was also involved, a BMW that didn’t have time to brake, hitting the two cars stopped on the road after the accident.

Elly had said goodbye to the team in 2019, saying she was going to live in San Marino.
