Salzburg star Adeyemi does not switch to Barcelona – football
Salzburg youngster Karim Adeyemi is said to have turned down an offer from FC Barcelona. The striker prefers to move to his home country.
Karim Adeyemi made his big breakthrough in calendar year 2021. The striker played his way into the Salzburg team and made it to the German national team. Its market value climbed to 20 million euros. Top clubs are queuing up to buy the 19-year-old from his contract, which runs until 2024.
Borussia Dortmund knocked in among others. BVB is said to offer a five-year deal, a five million euro salary and 35 million euro transfer fee. Barcelona are also interested in Adeyemi. But: Adeyemi not in Barcelona.
As the transfer expert Max Bielefeld reports on “Sky”, the German gives the “Blaugrana” a rejection. “The reasons are that he wants to develop in Germany and in the Bundesliga – also explained in relation to the European Championship 2024”, the insider.
Adeyemi’s father Abbey, who plays an important role in the life of the Salzburg youngster, would therefore be concerned that a career in the national team could suffer if he switched to the Catalans.
The better option is therefore to join Dortmund. Bielefeld expert thinks a move to BVB is “90 to 95 percent” likely.
