PostBus says goodbye to Liechtenstein – Liechtenstein
SCHAAN – PostBus operations in the Principality of Liechtenstein come to an end after almost 100 years. PostBus applied for the bus routes in the most recent tender, but was not awarded the contract. Therefore, from December 12, 2021, another operator will be responsible for bus traffic in Liechtenstein. PostBus has found good solutions for personal matters.
With the upcoming timetable change on December 12, 2021, an era will come to an end in public transport in the Principality of Liechtenstein. The company announced on Monday in a broadcast that PostBus would make its last trips on Saturday, December 11, 2021 after almost 100 years of activity.
PostBus does not appeal
LIEmobil had put the order for 14 bus routes out to tender. PostBus would have made great efforts in advance, but could not win the tender. The order went to another bus company. PostBus took note of the result of the request, but has decided not to appeal.
Connection solutions for the found employees
Last year, PostBus was there to find good solutions to the around 110 employees of PostBus Liechtenstein Anstalt. The drivers received the offer to work for the new operator on the same terms in future. Solutions could also be found for management and support staff. PostBus officials express their appreciation and thanks to all employees for the work they have done.
