Criticism of vacancy in GSWB buildings
politics
The Salzburg SPÖ criticizes the fact that two GSWB buildings in the city of Salzburg are still empty – at the expense of Salzburg taxpayers: the commanders’ villa of the former Riedenburg barracks and a shop near the main train station.
Both locations could bring 50,000 euros in rental income every year, according to the GSWB in response to a request from the city’s SPÖ. But the first is calculated too low and the second – if empty like now – a waste of tax money, says city councilor Anja Hagenauer: “As far as I know, the shop on Elisabethstrasse has been empty for over three years. It’s a shame, because the rental income that is lost is of course lost for the GSWB is 100 percent owned by the people of Salzburg. “
Buildings have been vacant for three years
It is particularly sad at the commandant’s villa in the former Riedenburg barracks, i.e. Hagenauer: Among other things, it would really be a child and youth home there – the child and youth advocate or parent advisory service. Unfortunately we only get rejections. “
New tenant in prospect
From the GSWB it is said again about the commandant’s villa that a lease will be concluded soon. It is a Salzburg cultural institution. Social institutions may be interested in the Elisabethstrasse business premises, but it has been canceled for financial reasons. Negotiations are in progress with two other interested parties.
