Covid-19: James cancel concerts in Portugal | Song
The English band James, who was supposed to perform next Sunday at the Super Bock Arena pavilion, in Porto, and the following day in Lisbon, at Campo Pequeno, was forced to cancel both dates after a band member and a technician of the production team have tested positive for covid-19. The producer responsible for the shows, from PEV Entertainment, has already announced on its Facebook page that the two concerts will be postponed, respectively, to April 21 and 22, 2022.
The producer adds that tickets already purchased remain valid for the new dates, with no need to exchange them for new tickets. Buyers who are unwilling or unable to see concerts in April must request a refund within 30 days of the scheduled date of the concert. If you have not purchased the ticket online, go to the store where you purchased it.
In a statement, the band announces the two detected cases of Covid-19, without identifying those infected, and says it is disappointed at not being able to meet the scheduled dates. In July of this year, anticipating a planned arrival from Portugal, guitarist and violinist Saul Davies wrote: “We could hardly imagine, when we finished the September 2019 show in Porto, that it would be almost two years without performing live… but here we are we! The opportunity to return “home” to Porto to act in front of this wonderful Portuguese audience is unbelievable! Can not wait “. But after all, he will have to wait a few more months.
Originally from the English city of Manchester, the band was created in 1981, but their best known successes, such as born of frustration, Sometimes, Lead or Tell Something, date from the first half of the 90s. In 2001, they achieved a new success with getting Away With This (Everything Messy Above).
In concerts now canceled in Porto and Lisbon the James would present live the new album they released in June this year: Everything O Colors of You.
