The last two years have not been easy. We are facing a pandemic, rapid changes in the environment, as well as increasing discussions on social justice or equality. Therefore, it is no surprise that the key aspects will also be in the case of offices: flexibility, sustainability, equality, diversity, inclusion, health and well-being of employees. They will enjoy popularity mainly hybrid forms of work.

COMPANIES ‘OFFICES IN SLOVAKIA DESERVE ATTENTION
CBRE, a global real estate consulting company, has decided to point out that there is an existing company not only in the world, but also in Slovakia, whose work environment perceives current trends and pays for its interested parties spaces that deserve attention and appreciation. The opportunity to present office space comes within new year of the OFFICE OF THE YEAR competition, which already annually shows the best of the world of offices in Slovakia. Companies will have the opportunity to apply for free at the beginning of the year, in January 2022. Registration will be open to Slovak and multinational private companies, public administration institutions and organizations from the third sector. The expert jury will select the best of all and announce the winners in various categories, including the “royal category”, the Absolute Winner of the OFFICE OF THE YEAR 2021.

OFFICES ARE NECESSARY, A FULL TRANSITION TO WORK FROM HOME IS PLANNED ONLY BY 15% OF COMPANIES
Recent findings from CBRE surveys and analysis also highlight companies’ awareness of the need for change. According to them, almost 60% of companies in the EMEA region are inclined to flexible working opportunities, while the same percentages are planned by their offices. “As many as 80% of companies expect their employees to work mostly in their offices or in the same proportion at a distance and from the office. Only 15% of companies plan a complete transition to working from home. The competition for talent is very intense today, and according to CBRE experts, it is necessary to realize that the experience of working remotely or from home, employees are motivated to return to the office only by a high-quality environment. However, changes in design are not enough for companies to be able to start working flexibly. A comprehensive strategy is needed that is not easy to create. They will sit in the seats this year: Elena Labancová, facility manager from Swiss Re, whose office space won in 2018, Štefan Polakovič from the gutgut architectural studio, which created the premises for last year’s Mobilonline winner in Lučenec, Mgr. art. Michal Staško, designer, Staško Design member of the architectural studio a11 and Peter Chaban, architect from the studio Chybik + Krištof, and last but not least we were welcomed by the representative of the general partner of the competition, Adrian Bódis, country manager from the company.
