Contacts in Athens for the police of Heraklion
A series of contacts in Athens on issues concerning the police had a representative of the Union of Police Officers of Heraklion who met with the leader of ELAS Michalis Karamalakis and members of POASY. The relevant announcement indicates the following:
“On 03-12-2021 the presidency of our Union, consisting of the President KALOMIRIS Nikolaos, the Vice President ANTHOULAKIS Konstantinos and the General Secretary MARKOGIANNAKI George accompanied by the president of POASKA. Hellenic Police with the physical leadership of the body and specifically them Mr. EL.AS Chief KARAMALAKI Michael, EL.AS Deputy Chief DASKALAKI Andrea, Chief of Staff EL.AS.
A memorandum was submitted by our Union to Mr. Chief with the key issues that currently concern our Management and our colleagues. In particular, we requested and emphasized the restoration of the building that is housed in the Minos Paidiados Police Department, after the catastrophic earthquake of 27-09-2021 and we received the confirmation of both him and the Head of the G.D.O.Y.E.S. . Mr. CHRISTOU Nikolaou that it is a matter of days to submit the study of the repair by the Directorate of Technicians so that the funds for the works of the building come out. We received their commitment that with the start of work, which will begin immediately, the building will be delivered later in 40-45 days from their start. We also requested the reinforcement of the Minos Paidiados Police Department as well as the Malevizi Police Department and he assured us that he would leave the G.E.P.AD. Crete in the immediate future, with secondments outside D.A. Heraklion, which we specifically emphasized. We also asked for our management to be reinforced with one (1) covid patrol car, two (2) cages for transporting prisoners for the needs of the T.M.D. HERAKLEPSOU and one (1) Service bus type Y.AT. for the needs of the squad of our Directorate. We received his commitment for the covid vehicle, which will be sent directly to our Address, while for the other vehicles he assured us that he undertook it personally and with the first findings that exist they will be strengthened accordingly. We also requested to be reinforced with some of the recently granted, 280 new vehicles, but as we mentioned, these were purchased through the Border Security Fund and were specifically allocated to AD. of Northern Greece. However, we received the confirmation that through the first ESPA. 2022, which is before March of next year, will be strengthened with a sufficient number of vehicles, mainly motorcycles. Finally, we requested the appropriate reinforcement-granting with material and technical equipment (squad helmets, motorcycle helmets, service jackets, overalls, etc.) where he assured us that the necessary actions will be taken through the management of D.A. Heraklion to receive this equipment.
As for the well-known Messara Sub-Directorate, our leader mentioned that it was currently in the planning phase, we stressed that we will be opposed to a proportion of the existing staff of our Directorate to staff the new services of Messara and we only agree in case new organic positions are created with coverage by colleagues outside D.A. Heraklion. We will not allow movements to take place within our Directorate that will cause anomalies and difficulties in the service and family peace of our colleagues. We also stressed the extension of the financial leasing plan for the vehicles that have been sold to the T.A.E. Messaras where he assured us of their extension for the year 2022.
A meeting was held with members of POASY. at the offices of the Federation where we were informed about current issues.
Finally, a meeting was held with the A / D Mrs. KOLIONI Konstantina, President of the Children’s Countryside Foundation, in order to be informed about the fate of the causes of compensation of our colleagues whose homes were damaged by the catastrophic earthquake of 27-09-2021 and we received the assurance that we were compensated. above institution and in fact with quite satisfactory amounts which colleagues will make in their accounts for the Christmas holidays.
All our meetings took place in a warm atmosphere, all natural leadership and Heads of Offices understood the issues we raised and we hope for their appropriate response.
At this point we can assure all our colleagues that we will be by their side in whatever we need, our phones are at their disposal and the European Union office is always open “.
