Hydrogen e-EXPERT has gone into production, but Slovakia still does not have a single pump
Peugeot has announced the start of production of an electric version of the e-EXPERT HYDROGEN model, powered by hydrogen fuel cells. The French carmaker will offer this type of drive in series production as one of the first in the world. However, we still do not have a single hydrogen station in Slovakia.
Peugeot introduced its first hydrogen car to the world later this summer, and its first pieces are currently coming from the production line. The new Peugeot e-EXPERT, built on the EMP2 platform with hydrogen fuel cells, could address the issue of commercial vehicle electrification, but not in Slovakia.
The Peugeot e-EXPERT Hydrogen is basically a plug-in hybrid model, but it includes a classic internal combustion engine. The delivery will in all circumstances be powered by an electric motor with an output of 100 kW (136 hp) and a torque of 260 Nm, which will be able to power the battery or hydrogen.

The battery with a capacity of 10.5 kWh and 11 kW AC charging will be used especially shortly after start-up and at speeds up to 50 km / h. In other cases, the electric motor will take energy from fuel cells, which generate energy from a stored source in the tanks.
If necessary, Peugeot e-EXPERT Hydrogen can combine these two energy sources, typically on-going. However, unlike today’s plug-in hybrid models, its driving is 100% CO2-free. In this way, a single refueling (which only takes 3 minutes) can consume e-EXPERT approximately 400 kilometers (WLTP).
Although some electric cars, for example, can achieve the same and sometimes higher range, their charging in the commercial majority is hindered by the charging time, which, even with the most powerful charging, counts for tens of minutes.
Thus, while passenger transport is likely to be dominated by electric vehicles, water models such as the new e-EXPERT are more likely to be used in the field of commercial vehicles. However, we are still waiting for the first hydrogen filling stations in Slovakia.

The original reports in the autumn from the beginning of the year spoke about the opening of the first first pumping sources in Bratislava and Košice later this year. Despite the fact that at the World Expo 2020 in the United Arab Emirates, Slovakia is presenting a hydrogen vision and the end of 2021 is practically around the corner, the opening of these first ones is still in sight.
