Corona risk number is also falling in Salzburg
The 100 mark, below which at least only a high risk or orange begins, is of course still a long way off.
Corona situation is best in the east
According to the working document of the Corona Commission available to the APA, the situation looks best in the east. Vienna 210, Burgenland at 306 and Lower Austria at 486. At the other end of the scale is Tyrol with 1,491 As far as the 14-day trend in the number of infections is concerned, these two federal states as well as Vorarlberg and Styria are moving upwards. The difference in the risk number is that factors such as the age of the infected and vaccination status are also taken into account.
Important figure falls in Salzburg
It is positive that the replication factor, i.e. the average number of those infected by an infected person, has now slipped well below one in the former problem countries of Upper Austria and Salzburg and is 0.94 and 0.95, respectively. This factor is particularly important in the pandemic analysis, as it shows an increasing (above 1) or decreasing current development (below 1).
How different the situation in the country is can be seen from a look at the raw case numbers. In the 14-day trend, there was a decline or at least a standstill in all Upper Austrian and Burgenland districts, while in Carinthia and Vorarlberg there was also an increase in the incidence everywhere. With Wolfsberg, a Carinthian district also has the worst values. The closest is the location in Jennersdorf.
Most tests in Vienna
Most of the testing continues in Vienna. Most recently, there were 126,000 tests for every 100,000 inhabitants. For comparison: Lower Austria brings up a good 67,000. This week, like EVERYONE before, Vienna is also the outlier when uncovering asymptomatic cases. 61 percent of the cases discovered in the federal capital were found in people who did not show any symptoms. The national average is 26 percent. The source can only be clarified in 28 percent of cases. Vienna also has the best value here, Upper Austria the worst.
