[WEBTIPP] This Salzburg online gallery shows the many sides of violence against women
Art despite violence
As you have probably already noticed, the international campaign with the title is currently running 16 days against violence against women. And unfortunately for good reason: So far 23 femicides this year alone are only the visible tip of an overwhelming problem that affects thousands of women across Austria. And unfortunately there are no quick fixes. On the contrary: the corona pandemic is only likely to exacerbate the problem in the coming months. An exhibition in Salzburg now wants to make a small contribution to visualization and shows works by artists on the subject of violence against women and FLINTA * people.
The project was organized with the title Art despite violence from Frauennotruf Salzburg in cooperation with the gendup center and Fotohof Salzburg. Since last week, the selected works have been presented in an online gallery. It ranges from a gloomy, sarcastic music video to a surprising series of photos about the everyday life of sex workers *. Not all works are visible yet, one or two works are published daily. It’s also worth coming back.
