Bergé is now Astara and will bring the Aiways U5 100% electric SUV to Portugal
Bergé Group is undergoing a structural optimization that includes a new name, new methodologies and even a new brand
With the main objective of following the change that the automobile industry is going through, and always with the customer as a priority, the Bergé Group has just announced its new name: Astara. It is with this new identity that the company presents its commitment to changes in mobility and an innovative ecosystem of products and services, which are not restricted to the distribution of cars.
The offer of a more sustainable, more digitalized and more energy efficient mobility involves a wide range of products and services focused only on these areas – all included in a new digital platform developed by the group and which offers a better interaction with the customer throughout of the most varied phases of the ownership experience.

According to Francisco Geraldes, the administrator of Astara Portugal, “This is one of the biggest changes in the group’s history and translate to ability to anticipate the new relationship of people with mobility”. “Astara and the whole concept of mobility ecosystem that is associated with it express our commitment to innovation as a path to sustainability and this is only possible thanks to the experience in the sector and the robust structure of the Bergé Auto Group, built over more than four decades”, he stresses.

Francisco Geraldes also recalls that Portugal was the first internationalization experience for the Bergé Auto Group, which currently operates in 14 countries in Europe and Latin America and is soon to arrive in Austria and the Philippines.
Astara currently distributes 29 car brands, seven of which in Portugal are represented by this group. Among them, we find Kia, Mitsubishi, Fuso and Isuzu, but in April 2022 Astara will also introduce us to Aiways, a new Chinese car brand that starts its activity with the SUV U5 100% electric, equipped with a 204 horsepower engine and capable of traveling more than 400 kilometers on a battery charge. Besides this, the U6ion concept also leaves us in the expectation of how its production version can be.
