More than 900,000 people have already been vaccinated with a booster dose of the covid-19 vaccine and about 1.7 million have received an inoculation against a claim, the Ministry of Health announced yesterday.
“On November 24, it was possible to vaccinate 55,971 people with a booster dose of the vaccine against covid-19 and 51,329 with the flu vaccine (5,545 in pharmacies),” the ministry said in a statement.
People who have been inoculated with Janssen’s vaccine will also be able to receive a booster dose 90 days after taking the first dose, it adds.
The “Open House” modality is available for people aged 75 or over who have a full vaccination and want to be vaccinated with a booster dose and/or against a flu, as well as local scheduling for eligible users, “being given Priority is given to older people and gradually covering younger age groups, until reaching 65 years of age, “explains the document.
Self-scheduling is also possible for people 65 years of age or older (https://covid19.min-saude.pt/pedido-de-agendamento/) and the call is maintained via SMS for simultaneous vaccination against flu and COVID-19 or just for the flu vaccine, you are not eligible for covid-19.
Covid-19 has caused at least 5,173,915 deaths worldwide, among more than 258.92 million infections by the new coronavirus registered since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the most recent report by the Agence France-Presse.
In Portugal, since March 2020, 18,385 people have died and 1,133,241 cases of infection have been recorded, according to data from the General Directorate of Health.
