Toulouse: compulsory health pass for the Christmas market at the Capitole
The health pass must be presented at the entrance to the Christmas market on Place du Capitole and the solidarity market on allées Jules-Guesde.
“Every day, we are in contact with the prefecture and we adapt if necessary. For now, we have no concerns, ”said Tuesday, during the presentation of the Christmas festivities, Jonnhy Dunal, city councilor in charge of the holidays, who, last year, had to manage the cancellation of the Christmas market. If the 120 white chalets of the Place du Capitole are back this year, with an opening this Friday November 26 until December 26, the event remains subject to the health protocol. The market, as has been the case for several years with the Vigipirate plan, is completely blocked. Eleven security guards will be on hand at the four entrances. Each visitor must present their health pass. It is on this condition that he will be able to find the 17 catering chalets, 27 food, 11 clothing, 10 crafts from around the world, 23 decoration and 10 jewelry.
This year, the ice rink, absent from the 2019 edition, is back. With its area of 200 m2, it had called 11,000 people, recalled Christophe Alvès, delegated municipal councilor. The market will be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Market “engaged” in Jules-Guesde
On the alleys Jules-Guesde, the artisanal and solidarity market will operate under the same regime, said Nicole Miquel-Belaud, municipal councilor responsible for the social and solidarity economy. That is to say with the control of the sanitary pass. The market brings together around forty players in this sector. It is “an engaged market which allows to give meaning to its gifts”, likes to underline the elected one. This market is held from December 4 to 19. It is open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and until 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
