The feet of Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella of Monaco are part of a work of art
Prince Albert II of Monaco unveiled, this Tuesday, a work of art that has the originality of containing his footprints and those of his twins, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella.
Very personal inauguration, this Tuesday, November 23, 2021, for Prince Albert II of Monaco. The husband of Princess Charlene unveiled a new sculpture on the prison terrace. Work of Stéphanie Natéra -an artist living in the neighboring French town of Beausoleil-, it consists of a very original golden bench depicting a stylized cetacean. Which rests on a semi-circular plinth where you can see six footprints. Those of the sovereign, age 63, and his twins of almost 7 years, Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques. As if the trio, whose names are engraved, had sat there barefoot and had left this trace of their passage.
A work made with used plastic
On the perimeter of the base, is inscribed this sentence, in French and in English, in handwritten letters: “All power is weak unless it is united, let us act together for the protection of cetaceans”. The work is in fact linked to the 25e anniversary of the Accobams. Installed facing the sea and made with 350 kg of used plastics, it aims to invite reflection on the future by highlighting the risks and consequences of the countless quantities of plastic waste that ends up in the oceans. More specifically, it aims to raise awareness of the threats to cetaceans and their habitats. The Monegasque monarch received a smaller replica.
