Slovakia has the worst epidemiological situation
Slovakia is in a situation where it has not yet been. There is the worst epidemiological situation in the whole new coronavirus pandemic. This was stated by the Chief Hygienist Ján Mikas at a press conference.
“We’re going back to a second state like the conditions during the wave,” Mikas said. A short-term measure to improve the pandemic situation is to limit mobility. In the long run, according to Mikas, vaccination with the third dose and vaccination of the unvaccinated will help. He pointed out that Slovakia needs to process the curve quickly and receive the income of new patients in hospitals.
The most important thing will be the responsibility of all of us, Mikas noted.
According to Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OĽANO), the situation will be reviewed after ten days and the curfew will apply for at least two weeks. Measures should be relaxed for vaccinees and people who have overcome COVID-19 if the situation improves.
According to the premiere, Lockdown in the Black Districts has been around for several weeks. According to him, the fact that the results are deteriorating is the result of non-compliance with the measures. He is not “just naked” against the pandemic, he noted. It goes on to say that lockdown is essential for both healthcare professionals and the unvaccinated. Heger also believes that Slovaks will not use the measures.
The Prime Minister is behind the Council’s recommendation. He noted that when they closed the schools, however, they came across a coalition agreement, as the Liberals exercised the right of veto.
The head of the Ministry of Health, Vladimír Lengvarský (OĽANO nominee), called for people to be vaccinated. He recalled that monoclonal tasks were already being used to treat the disease and that tablets for the treatment of COVID-19 with the active substance molnupiravir were also being purchased. He also urged Slovaks not to travel and to limit contacts.
The Minister of Finance Igor Matovič (OĽANO) also informed about Wednesday evening’s coalition meeting. It is about solutions to motivate people to get vaccinated in 60 years.
