ORF is giving away single-family homes and electric cars
Vienna. Anyone who gets vaccinated in Austria could get rich presents for Christmas. The Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) has started an vaccination lottery like it in a message called. There are attractive prizes: In addition to a single-family house and an electric car, the participants can also win a kitchen facility and around 1,000 other prizes that were donated by companies for the campaign.
All people living in Austria who are older than 18 years of age and who have been vaccinated between October 1st and December 20th are eligible to participate. It does not matter whether it is the first, second or booster vaccination, as the ORF reports. The proof of vaccination does not have to be presented in advance, but when the prize is received. The winners will be announced on December 24th, also on Christmas Eve. Registrations are now and exclusively at Werimpftgewinnt.orf.at possible.
ORF boss: “Clarification and information are sometimes not enough”
ORF General Director Alexander Wrabetz sees the campaign as further incentives for vaccination against Corona, since the vaccination campaign in Austria had recently stalled. The ORF journalists may do their best to inform dying people in the country about the coronavirus on the basis of scientific findings. “But education and information are sometimes not enough to anchor the indispensable contribution of vaccination to fighting pandemics to as many people as possible,” says Wrabetz.
Lottery in Burgenland a complete success
The ORF campaign is not the first vaccination lottery in Austria. In the Austrian state of Burgenland, she reached her destination at the beginning of November. Country chief Hans Peter Doskozil (SPÖ) announced that the 10,000 additional first vaccinations mark had been exceeded. On November 11th, the national holiday, 1,000 non-cash prizes were raffled – including three cars, 15 e-bikes, iPhones and Macbooks as well as numerous vouchers. Around 80,000 people had registered for the lottery, which was open to everyone who had been vaccinated. Measured in terms of population, the smallest of the nine Austrian federal states with 300,000 inhabitants has already been at the top in terms of vaccination quota. After Burgenland, Upper Austria has also started a corona vaccination lottery as the second Austrian federal state to increase the number of people who want to be vaccinated. Beginning of the war of action on November 15th.
