In Toulouse, the Archipel Citoyen group splits into two
The first faces seven opposition elected officials: Aymeric Deheurles, Jamal El Arch, Caroline Honvault, Odile Maurin, François Piquemal (near LFI), Agathe Roby (LFI) and Maxime Le Texier. These last two co-chair the training. The second brings together five elected officials (Antoine Maurice (EELV), Michèle Bleuse (EELV), Hélène Cabanes (EELV), Romain Cujives and Isabelle Hardy (Génération.s)).
Two other elected officials of Archipel Citoyen preferred to become non-registered: Hélène Magdo (LFI) and Julienne Mukabucyana. They join two other elected opposition members not registered in a group: Pierre Lacaze (PCF) and Vincent Gibert (PS).
“There were difficulties in working together, but no questioning of the municipal project,” says Maxime Le Texier. This remains the right method to fight the policy of Jean-Luc Moudenc and restore the power to act to the inhabitants. “” A defeat is more complicated to manage than a victory. Being in action would have kept us united, ”believes François Piquemal, taking the politically heterogeneous municipal majority as an example.
Separated, the two groups continue to perform, in the city, as in the metropolis, according to Agathe Roby. Until the next split? François Piquemal assures us that it is not: “We realize that we would live better apart, while working together. We all hope to do this until 2026. ”“ We have created a common culture, based on shared values and not obedience to a monarch. We are building the bridges to meet tomorrow, ”promises Maxime Le Texier.
For its part, the Archipel Citoyen association remains active. It claims 180 up-to-date members and 2,900 sympathizers.
