Tibor Benkő said that the force development program launched in 2017 has a great responsibility due to the rapid changes in the environment.
We need an army that is committed to the security of the Hungarian people, he said. He said that while the number of members of the army was 155,000 in 1989, by 2007 it had dropped to 23,950.

He recalled that throughout history the Hungarian people were involved in 163 battles, battles and revolutions, 90 of which were won. It also proves that we have values, we have something to protect. You need a modern army with the necessary soldiers, he pointed out.
