From 26 to 28 November 2021, the Golden Jubilee of the Renewal in Italy will be inaugurated at the Papal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome. There will be 1,000 at the Palaterme in Fiuggi and 10,000 at the same time in 133 different diocesan places. In our territory three dioceses will be found together: Cesena-Sarsina, Rimini and San Marino-Montefeltro at Villa Torlonia in San Mauro pascoli, a meeting that will see in addition to the animators of the Renewal, the presence of the Bishop of Rimini Monsignor Francesco Lambiasi. What characterizes this year the traditional moment of annual formation of the animators of the Movement is precisely the “synodal style”, through the full involvement of the Cenacles, Groups and Communities present in Italy, to favor a large participation in the territory and to live a united important anniversary: ​​the Golden Jubilee of the Renewal in Italy. It was in fact the autumn of 1971, when the Catholic Charismatic Renewal began to take its first steps and, from January 1972, the first realities were born, in Rome (Pontifical Gregorian University) and San Mauro Pascoli (Rimini). The beginning of this Jubilee Year will be solemnly celebrated on Friday 26 November, in Rome, with the Celebration at the Papal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, presided at 5.00 pm by the Archpriest H. Em. Card. Stanislaw Ryłko. «It is really time to renew our covenant with God and among us – declares Salvatore Martinez, national president of the RnS – to renew it, to perceive its newness and necessity. We want an RnS that does not retreat in the flesh, but that overcomes in the Spirit all the difficulties and trials that the pandemic has caused. We are preparing to live our 45th National Animators Conference, which allowed us to proclaim the synodal spirit desired by Francis and to favor a circulation of charisms, ministries, operations never seen in the past. How true and timely for us are the very recent words of the Holy Father, addressed on the occasion of the 49th Social Week of Italian Catholics: “There is a need to meet and see each other’s face, to smile and plan, to pray and dream of design together. This is all the more necessary in the context of the crisis generated by Covid. We cannot resign ourselves and look at the window, we cannot remain indifferent or apathetic without assuming responsibility towards others and towards society … To get up again we can convert to God and learn the good use of his gifts … first of all, creation … Above all, let us not lack the ardor of community conversion ”. The event that we will experience in Fiuggi and in 133 diocesan places will therefore be a wonderful way to implement all this, “relaunching” our journey on the eve of the Golden Jubilee of Renewal in Italy and celebrating, between memorial and grateful memory, this long story that deserves to be told to the new generations. Synodality, relaunch of charisms and ministries in our territories, testimony of diocesan and ecclesial vitality will in fact be the distinctive elements of this awaited appointment, to be shared in full communion through a “circular subsidiarity”, which will see the RnS increasingly reaching out towards that “diocesan “effective” capable of showing the true face and the many spiritual and social prerogatives of the Movement itself to our local Churches ».
