Singer Nini Remartinez, 102 years old, died on Saturday in Lisbon, announced a Casa do Artista, where the singer has lived since 2005.

From her name Maria Carolina Remartinez Quilez de Freitas França, Nini, born on February 10, 1919, was one of the first names on the radio in Portugal, one of the “radio singers”, having debuted at the age of 19, alongside the sister, Fernanda, with whom he formed the duo Irmãs Remartinez.
The premiere of the Portuguese “Duo de Ouro da Rádio”, as it became known, took place at the microphones of Rádio Peninsular, in 1938.
The two singers then went through Voz de Lisboa among other radio stations and magazines, until they arrived at the former National Broadcaster – current RTP / Radiodifusão Portuguesa -, of combined staff Nini Remartinez was part of, and where she ended up putting an end to her artistic career, choosing to for family life.
