Half Marathon world record beaten in Lisbon
The athlete Jacob Kiplimo, champion of the distance world, participated this morning in the Half Marathon in Lisbon, which he won, highlighted, with a time of 0:57:31, the distance world record.

This was the 30th edition of the Lisbon Half Marathon.
Jacob Kiplimo, 21, ran, one second faster than the previous maximum, which was held by Kibiwott Kandie at the Valencia Half Marathon in 2020).
Also among the women was broken a new course record, set by Ethiopian Tsehay Gemechu Beyan, who with 1:06:06 won the race and surpassed the previous maximum of Vivian Cheruiyot. Beyan triumphed 9 seconds ahead of Daisy Cherotich and 13 seconds ahead of Joyce Chepkemoi Tele, both with a record that surpasses the previous Lisbon record of 2019.
