The first batch of imported coal for the needs of Centerenergo – DTEK – has arrived in Ukraine
The first of DTEK’s semi-ordered ships with 60.5 thousand tons of coal has arrived in Ukraine, DTEK Energo reported.
“The Panamax-class ship started at the Pivdenny port and is intended for state-owned TPP Centerenergo. The volume of the first supply to the population is 60.5 thousand tons,” DTEK Energo reported on its website on Saturday evening.
To date, DTEK has settled with international suppliers on imports of 7 coal shipments, of which 5 are coal shipments from the United States and 2 from Colombia.
The volume of each batch is from 40 to 75 thousand tons, as a result of the total volume of supply – almost 470 thousand tons, DTEK Energo clarified.
According to her, it is expected that all parties will build in Ukraine during November 2021 – January 2022. The next delivery is scheduled for the end of November, four – in December and one – in January.
“All of them are intended for the needs of DTEK Energo TPP,” the company said.
In addition to supplying coal by sea, DTEK expects coal from Poland, with which it has signed two agreements for 340,000 tons of thermal coal, and in September-October the company imported coal from Kazakhstan.
The total volume of already contracted coal from Poland, the USA and Kazakhstan is about 0.9 million tons, in September-October more than 356 thousand tons of coal were imported, DTEK Energo summed up.
They also noted that they are negotiating the volume of imported fuel.
At the same time, DTEK Energo stressed that the port is a temporary measure focused on protecting the resource deficit, and the best way will be to use Ukrainian coal.
The company added that between January and October, DTEK Energo mined UAH 13.7 million. tons of coal grade “G” and put into operation 23 new benches, in total it is planned to increase the level of production for the year to 17 million UAH. tons of gas coal.
As Zelensky reported, earlier in Ukraine, Volodymyr announced the stay of 7 Panamax ships in Ukraine, in connection with which, according to him, the president’s energy balance and consumption are not expected.
