Lockdown for everyone, compulsory vaccination is coming
corona
From Monday there will be a nationwide, hard lockdown for everyone, and there will be compulsory vaccination in Austria from February 1, 2022. Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg (ÖVP) announced this on Friday morning. Schools and kindergartens should, however, remain open.
When it comes to schools, go to the Salzburger Weg, said Chancellor Schallenberg in the press conference on Monday. This also means that lessons should continue as usual from Monday. “There is classroom teaching, but parents can decide to take their children out. But there is an appeal from us – the governors and the federal government – to parents and families that those who can do this please leave their children at home. “
Care for those who urgently need it
Salzburg’s family councilor Andrea Klambauer (NEOS) also struck in the same. Kindergartens and crawling groups will continue to offer care – for those who urgently need it. The appeal to all those who are not allowed to go to work due to the lockdown is also to leave their children at home in order to avoid the risk of infection.
In schools, a mask is compulsory throughout: Children in elementary schools, lower secondary schools, middle schools and special schools must wear at least mouth and nose protection, all other students and teachers must wear an FFP2 mask.
Vaccination compulsory from February 2022
In order to get the infection process under control as a whole, the government and federal states also agree on a general vaccination requirement – Nationwide lockdown for everyone (news.ORF.at; November 19, 2021)
Salzburg’s state medical director Petra Juhasz said in an initial reaction that she would of course have preferred it when people had to protect themselves voluntarily. “But if it doesn’t work, and this has simply been shown in the last few months, then there must be a compulsory vaccination.
The governors spoke out in favor of a continuation of the vaccination offensive. In general, the third dose is possible from the fourth month. From February 1 of the coming year, the third dose in the Green Pass is only valid for seven months.
