Athens you are Mexican: Hangouts with Latin American temperament
Recently, more and more often, in another area of Athens, even if I find myself, I fall on a Frida Kahlo. Or to a cactus that has tamed a sombrero on its thorns. Or in skeletons that refer to the Day of the Dead. I do not know if you have taken the hump, but from the South to the Northern Suburbs, up and down, right and left, the city is full of Mexicans. Something tells me that in a little while the bartenders of the Constitution who sell tacos instead of buns from Thessaloniki! Many of us play on the fingers the tips for the right guacamole and all the ingredients of chili con carne. We are passionately looking for the juiciest burrito and the hottest fajitas. Other hangouts that have opened in recent years and are now considered classics are Che (151 Karaiskou, Piraeus) with the impressive mural of Frida Kahlo, which has passed through the feed of all of us at some point, and the colorful Mamacita (Apollonos 9B, Syntagma) with delicious dishes and strong cocktails.

But if you want to go one step further in the wonderful world of tequila, you have to take a walk through Barro Negro (Ioannou Paparrigopoulou), where you will find dozens of tequilas and mezcal, as well as the shocking Paloma. Also from Buena Vista Social Bar (Agiou Filippou 7, Monastiraki), which although it does not specialize in tequila or Mexican, has a very nice cocktail, unbeatable view of the Acropolis and music that will convey the passion of Latin America. Finally a little exoticism in our lives… Isn’t that what we all look for?
