Salzburg’s head coach Matthias Jaissle at the weekend back to the sidelines returns. In the home game against Admira, the Bundesliga leaders scored three points before the important Champions League away game at OSC Lille on Tuesday. After the international break, the 15 internationals quickly returned to Salzburg in full. The Cameroonian team player Jerome Onguené is due to start training on Friday.
There was one failure to complain about. The Swiss central defender Bryan Okoh was operated on in Salzburg on Wednesday after he suffered a cruciate ligament rupture during team training. He will be out for several months. “Otherwise everyone will be back in good health,” reported Jaissle.
Adeyemi back too
The German had missed the 1-0 at Vienna Austria after a corona infection. “I would say that the nerves were rather empty at home in front of the screen. That was an unusual situation and doesn’t have to happen again,” said the 33-year-old. His quarantine expired during the international break – as did that of Karim Adeyemi, who was sent back to Salzburg as a contact person from the German team after a positive corona test by Bavaria’s Niklas Süle. Adeyemi has been fully training since this week, “he’s fine,” said Jaissle.
On Saturday against Admira, spectators will still be sitting in Wals-Siezenheim. After that, due to the lockdown in the state from Monday, no more fans could be admitted. According to a spokesman, the club is following the guidelines very closely. But one does not want to speculate, it was said on Thursday lunchtime. Jaissle: “We can only stick to the measures and hope that we can still play spectators. But health is of course in the foreground.”
