Day dedicated to meetings with the Government and with the highest offices of the State, the one that opened today for the Delegation of the Croatia-San Marino Interparliamentary Friendship Group, starting yesterday on the Titan, in the spirit of deep friendship that unites the two Parliaments and the two states.
Hosting the Delegation at Palazzo Begni was Croatia Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Luca Beccari who, together with the Ambassador of San Marino at the Marina Emiliani, had a conversation with the Delegation to retrace, together, the excellent state bilateral relations, the agreements defined and to be defined and the ongoing collaboration projects.
The issues of economic revitalization and synergies to be promoted in the economic-financial sphere were central.
There was no lack of reference to the negotiation process underway to reach an association agreement in the European context, on which the Croatian representation has offered full support to promote the acceleration of the process; support also confirmed in the Republic’s accession path to EUSAIR.
Beccari also underlined the desire to strengthen relations in the cultural, tourism and health sectors.
At the end of the meeting, the Secretary of State directly awarded the Vice President of the Parliament of the Republic of Croatia, prof. Zeliko Reiner, and the Croatian Ambassador, HE Jasen Mesić of the Honor of the Equestrian Order of St. Agatha.
The meeting then extended to a large government delegation, led by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and composed of the Secretaries of State for Culture, Andrea Belluzzi, al Lavoro, Teodoro Lonfernini, al Turismo, Federico Pedini Amati, to Health, Roberto Ciavatta and representing the Secretariat of State for Industry, by the Director of the Department Massimo Cenci.
The occasion made it possible to underline the relationships in specific sectors in more detail.
In the cultural and educational fields, there is discussion on the possibility of reaching agreements between museum institutions. In the university context, the usefulness of exchanges and of promoting mobility between teachers and students of the respective universities was emphasized.
We then discussed the possibility of setting up masters with health specialization in the Republic, and of promoting collaborations on the side of the production of health and pharmaceutical materials and technological innovation.
In the tourism sector, it emphasizes common roots and traditions and the need to strengthen collaboration, including through exchanges of experiences and best practices. Considered in this regard the possibility of reviewing the current Agreement on tourism, also in light of the transformations that have occurred due to the pandemic.
Also mentioned, on the Croatian side, are the opportunities to start collaborations in sectors not yet bilaterally explored and on which Croatia could offer valid synergies: agriculture, food sector, wood processing, information technology, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors.
Recalled by all the Secretaries of State the existence of a solid, friendly relationship that is always aimed at mutual support; a relationship that now sees the two states particularly close in Europe.
At the end of the morning of meetings, the two Delegations moved to Palazzo Pubblico, welcomed in an Official Audience by their Excellencies the Captains Regent, Francesco Mussoni and Giacomo Simoncini.
