Children stabbed and thrown out of the building, 1 dead & 1 injured; 2 arrested
In a disturbing incident, two children were thrown out of a building in Sweden which resulted in one dying, the other surviving with severe injuries. The children were siblings and were under 10 years old. According to authorities, Swedish police had on Monday arrested two adults suspected of murder. One, who is the father of the children, and a woman. The children were quickly taken to the hospital, but the younger of the two died.
The children’s father, who is in his forties, is said to have beaten and stabbed them before he threw them out of their apartment window in western Stockholm late on Sunday, according to the newspaper Expressen. The young people were discovered by a passing motorist who called the police. The public in Hässelby, Sweden’s capital, sounded the alarm at 21.45 at night, which prompted a police operation.
Police believe the children were thrown from a high altitude
Helena Boström Thomas, spokesperson for the police, states that the children, who are believed to be under 10 years old, were discovered lying on the ground. According to her, they believe that the children would have been thrown from a high altitude. The children were flown to hospital by helicopter. Forensic teams discovered blood and the suspects’ clothes, which were removed for analysis, according to The Mirror. Two ambulance helicopters were also sent to the scene, as part of a large operation with police and rescue services.
According to Expressen, a neighbor stated that it sounded like a jumble, as if something had fallen to the ground rather than crying. He further stated that he did not hear any screams from the young people so he did nothing about it until he heard the news. Another neighbor said she knew the family and thought they were really polite people. She also said she had not talked to them that much.
Neighbors called dad “weird”
The children’s father was described as a kind person who was willing to go out and help. But many neighbors also called the father a “strange” person, according to the Daily Mail. Another neighbor claimed that they heard a noise in the property at regular intervals and had already notified the landlord earlier.
