Spurs agree on a record contract when Levy ends the transfer championship
Tottenham seem to have secured the signing of a sought-after Serie A star, Liverpool are worried about Sadio Mane, while Monday’s transfer gossip claims that Arsenal are ready to land a Swedish winger.
VLAHOVIC AGREEMENT “OVERVIEW” FOR TOTTENHAM
Tottenham have reportedly won the race to sign Dusan Vlahovic after Daniel Levy agreed to break the club’s transfer record to sign the striker.
The Fiorentina striker is one of the hottest qualities in European football, having scored 21 goals last season. He has also scored 10 goals in 13 games so far this season to underline why the likes of Juventus and Arsenal are also keen.
And with Vlahovic having turned down a new deal, Fiorentina also recently admitted that his sale looked likely in the January window.
But it Daily Express, with reference to il Corriere dello Sport, claims that it is Tottenham who will recruit the striker.
They report that the striker had looked likely to join Juventus. But knowing that they do not want to sell to a Serie A competitor, Spurs chairman Levy has reportedly made a masterpiece.
He has reportedly promised to match all offers offered by Juve to the Serbian striker, to ensure that La Viola does not miss a penny of Vlahovic’s transfer fee.
They have already donated Federico Chiesa to the old lady and hope to avoid a repeat at all costs. And when he senses that possibility, Levy has apparently stepped in to win the race.
And the striker is said to be happy to move to north London where he will work under the respected Italian coach Antonio Conte.
Harry Kane is the only striker in Conte’s squad. But his struggle for form at club level, coupled with ongoing speculation about his future, means that it was basically from Tottenham’s point of view that Vlahovic will be recruited.
