Portugal has already inoculated more than half a million booster doses
FORPortugal has already inoculated more than half a million booster and additional doses of the vaccine against Covid-19, according to data released this Sunday by the Directorate-General for Health (DGS). Simultaneously, 1.1 million vaccines against a flu have been administered.
In order to speed up the vaccination process, the vaccination centers were available over the weekend, with a greater turnout being recorded on Saturday.
In these two days, at least 68,700 flu vaccines and 44,700 booster doses of Covid-19 vaccine (complete data only at the end of the day) were administered to users aged 65 and over.
DGS reminds that an ‘open house’ modality for people aged 80 and over will be maintained for a week. Local scheduling is also available for eligible users, “priority being given to older people and gradually covering younger age groups, until reaching 65 years of age”, the DGS also emphasizes in a statement.
Self-scheduling of Covid-19 vaccines is also available for people aged 70 and over in https://covid19.min-saude.pt/pedido-de-agendamento/.
The DGS reinforces the call for vaccination against the flu and against Covid-19, stressing that this is the “best protection for the most vulnerable, especially at this time of year, when temperatures are lower”.
