Salzburg: The issue of PCR test kits will be reorganized
Availability for everyone who needs a test should be ensured
Salzburg (OTS) – From Monday, November 15th, 21st there will be an output regulation in the form of an online registration for the PCR gargle tests in the SPAR stores. This is to ensure that everyone who needs a test gets one. The primary target group of the offer are non-immunized people who need these tests as evidence for legal reasons. In the meantime, the Salzburg-based company provides PCR gargle tests for self-use in cooperation with SPAR in three federal states. For this reason – and on the basis of SPAR’s practical experience with this system in Burgenland – Novogenia proposed this form of regulation for the issue and the federal states have taken up this suggestion.
This simple measure counteracts the hoarding of test kits, which unfortunately has often been practiced. The test kits now contain ten individual tests for one person. This is adequately supplied with tests for 14 days, since the validity of a test is 72 hours. You have to register online from Monday when or before picking up the items in the SPAR branches, after which you have 20 minutes to confirm the pick-up at the checkout of the respective store. It is important that the function “collect sample set now” is activated immediately before visiting the SPAR branch. After that, another test collection by the same person is only possible after 14 days. In order to introduce the regulation, this 20-minute period is slightly exceeded.
When registering, users are guided step-by-step through the system. All people who already have test kits and are registered can use them normally without having to register again.
Test kits with two and one tubes are valid / follow the instructions for use in the test kit
There are currently two different Novogenia test kits in circulation in the state of Salzburg. Since the tests differ in their handling, it is advisable to take a look at the respective package insert in any case. The test kits that have been newly delivered for a few days have been simplified in their use. In the future, for example, tap water will be used to gargle with instead of a salt water solution, and only one tube per test will be used, which is then filled with tap water. This system was used in Lower Austria and Upper Austria from the start. This not only increases user-friendliness, but also makes Novogenia’s logistics easier. Correct use is clearly described in the instructions for use and in a video sbg-gurgelt.at shown. The innovations and changes make the gargle tests easier. Of course, the test kits with two test tubes that have already been delivered are still valid and can be used up.
