MYFLEXBOX and UPS enter into partnership

Sugar Mizzy November 11, 2021

Cooperation with the largest parcel service provider in the world

Salzburg (OTS) – The growth course of MYFLEXBOX continues rapidly: Now follows the next large parcel service, which works together with the corporate start-up of Salzburg AG. UPS – the largest parcel service in the world – is now also delivering parcels to the intelligent collection stations that are available 24/7. MYFLEXBOX is the first provider-independent smart locker network in Europe with which the company works! A great success and proof that the start-up has long since established itself as an efficient partner in the logistics sector.

Since it was founded in 2018, MYFLEXBOX has not only convinced numerous location partners, but also international parcel service providers of the innovative smart city solution. Now the corporate start-up is entering into the next major partnership with UPS (United Parcel Service). “It fills us with joy and pride that the largest parcel service provider in the world is cooperating with us. UPS has recognized the benefits of MYFLEXBOX. We have been able to present enormous strong growth figures since our start and are now the largest provider-independent Smart Locker network in Austria with our own in-house developed software. This enables us to implement integrations quickly, as the short, extremely successful pilot phase with UPS has shown. The cooperation was professional and the integration went smoothly, which is why we are now looking forward to the roll-out to the entire network, ”says Jonathan Grothaus, Head of Product and Strategy at MYFLEXBOX, proudly. Just in time for the start of the Christmas season, UPS services start at the same time on the more than 160 MYFLEXBOX more than in Austria. MYFLEXBOX is part of the UPS Access Point® network.

Free choice: UPS My Choice® with 24/7 MYFLEXBOX service

Customers can now have UPS parcels delivered to the MYFLEXBOX and pick them up from there around the clock – also on weekends and public holidays – flexibly and without contact. This is how the service works: After registering with UPS My Choice®, it is possible to define a MYFLEXBOX of your choice as a permanent UPS Access Point® location and thus the delivery location. All UPS packages are then delivered to this MYFLEXBOX and can be picked up from there conveniently, contactlessly and flexibly in terms of time. At the same time, it is possible to use UPS My Choice® to divert individual UPS shipments to the MYFLEXBOX when you are not at home. After storage, customers receive an SMS with the MYFLEXBOX pick-up code.

Returns easily possible

Direct delivery to selected online shops is also possible. When paying in online shops that cooperate with UPS, buyers are shown all MYFLEXBOXES as UPS Access Point® locations. So you can choose a smart pick-up station nearby and have the parcels delivered right there. Last but not least, returns can also be processed. This has many advantages for online shop operators. According to a UPS study, the return conditions have an influence on the purchase decision. Simple return and exchange procedures lead to more sales and positive referrals.

Climate protection on the last mile

“These services all help to save all users unnecessary journeys and time. This is especially true for parcel service providers who use MYFLEXBOX to avoid unnecessary journeys on the last mile. Smart lockers thus promote climate protection and are now an indispensable, alternative delivery solution, ”explains Lukas Wieser, Head of Partnerships and Sales at MYFLEXBOX. Benefits that UPS has also recognized. The parcel service provider has set itself the goal of tackling sustainability challenges and positioning itself as a company that is driven by innovation. UPS was the company in the industry that published a sustainability report and has the following clear goals and intermediate goals to become climate neutral. More than 540,000 employees worldwide, 24.7 million parcels delivered daily and services in more than 220 countries and distinguish UPS. The global US courier express package delivery company was founded in 1907 with a loan of US $ 100 to start as a small courier service. Today, 114 years later, UPS is one of the largest and most reliable global package and logistics companies in the world.

The partnership with the rapidly growing, vendor-independent smart locker network from MYFLEXBOX is an important expansion step for the start-up. At the end of next year, around 400 intelligent MYFLEXBOX lockers for parcels and goods should be available throughout Austria. By the end of 2025 there should be up to 1,000 locations. MYFLEXBOX thus makes a valuable contribution to the future development of Austria’s infrastructure.
