Trnava / Cologne. At 1. FC Köln he still has to wait for his first scorer point this Bundesliga season – it worked better for the national team!
Ondrej Duda (26) scored on Thursday evening (November 11, 2021) in the World Cup qualification for Slovakia against Slovenia. But it wasn’t enough for a win against the neighbor – 2-2.
Ondrej Duda converts penalty against Jan Oblak very cool
Duda sat on the bench with Slovakia, which had no chance of getting a ticket for Qatar 2022 before the game. The Cologne player came into play at the beginning of the second half for ex-Napoli star Marek Hamšík (34, Trabzonspor).
The score is 0: 1, and Duda didn’t need long to equalize: In the 58th minute, the Finnish referee Mattias Gestranius points to the penalty spot after a handball. Duda grabbed the ball and turned into 1: 1 for sure.
And not against just anyone! The Slovenian goal is guarded by Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak (28), one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Duda loaded him very cool, sent Oblak to the right and pushed the ball from his view into the left corner. For FC, the ex-Herthan player has played four times in the Bundesliga and scored three times.
Mathias Olesen makes his debut in Luxembourg victory
But although Slovenia’s Miha Blazic saw yellow-red in the hand scene and Slovakia was outnumbered after the 1-1 draw, the guests hit back immediately through Miha Mevlja, the defender headed in after a corner to give the lead again (62.). David Strelec secured Duda & Co. with a long-range shot to make it 2-2 at least one point (74th).

A few minutes that he will never forget! The chances of participating in the World Cup also die – having placed third several times over – Luxembourgers are no longer.
