Press for the U-boys in Spain in the last match
The U-boys (LM04) this division is divided into two, half play international matches in the Faroe Islands, while the other half are in Spain and play the traditional Scandiberico tournament. The U-boys in Spain have had a brilliant start in the Scandiberico tournament after victories against Portugal and Sweden. In the last match, it was Spain who was on the opposite half of the field.
Spain got off to the best start and went up 5-1 after just four minutes. Both Norway and Spain drove at a high pace from the start, but it was clear to turn their chances into goals. After only six minutes therefore, Norway had to take a timeout at the position 7-2. The U-boys struggled to get hold of the Spanish players, who after fifteen minutes were in the lead 14-5. The young boys from Spain continued to drive towards Norway, which failed to catch up with the Spaniards. After 25 minutes, Spain had already managed to put 20 balls in goal, against Norway 10. The teams went to the break at the position 21-10.
Spain retained control after the second half was started and after 37 minutes had come up in a 15-goal lead at the position 27.-13. Norway failed to take on this lead, and after 20 minutes the boys were down 34-21. The Spaniards simply became too strong for the Norwegians. Despite occasionally good performances by Norway, and a good final sprint, they finally had to see themselves beaten by a strong Spanish team. The score is now 39-28.
Coach Johnny Jensen said the following after the loss:
– We do not play a good match today. We make too many technical mistakes against a very good team. Then I think many of our players were tired and could not bear to be at the top.
