Toulouse. A new fund to help SMEs
Among the best organized industrial sectors in France, French aeronautics meets in working order alongside Airbus. The ambitious increase in production rates announced by Airbus (read opposite) cannot be done without the supply chain, in other words the suppliers and subcontractors.
But they were strongly shaken by the Covid crisis with orders falling of 40%, 50%, 80% or even more orders at all for several months. Airbus has indeed drawn from its stocks to cushion the shock and reduce costs.
€ 3 million for 150 companies
in the aeronautical sector
The government therefore announced on October 28 a new aid scheme for SMEs in the aeronautical sector. This system, funded as part of the 15 billion euros revival plan for the aeronautics sector unveiled in mid-2020, will be activated by Gifas *. Up to € 3 million will thus be redeployed to support around 150 companies.
“At a time when the prospects for recovery in certain segments (in particular the A320) give visibility to manufacturers”, this device should help aeronautics SMEs to “build a strategy for crossing and overcoming the crisis”, in particular via advice on “diagnosis, diversification, preparation for ramp-up” specified the office of the Minister Delegate in charge of Industry, Agnès Pannier-Runacher.
Interested companies in the Occitania region must therefore contact Gifas to verify their eligibility, the nature and the timing of this new financial aid package.
