Covid-19. Portugal has 29 municipalities above the risk level. See on the map how is yours | Pandemic
The number of municipalities at high and very high risk of infection by the SARS-CoV-2 virus increased this week to 29, indicated this Friday by the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).
The epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General of Health (DGS) states that Pampilhosa da Serra entered this week for the risk of infection, with an accumulated incidence of 14 days (between 21 October and 3 this month) of 1066 cases. Between Friday and Friday, invited to be in this category from the municipalities of Penamacor and Penedono.
The extreme risk of infection occurs when a county has a cumulative incidence of 14 days above 960 cases of infection per 100 million inhabitants.
In municipalities at very high risk, that is, with an incidence of between 480 and 959.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, there is an increase from three to five in a week. Penamacor (741), Penedono (583), Ponte da Barca (568), Redondo (631) and Vila Nova da Barquinha (53) are the municipalities now at very high risk of infection.
It is recalled that, in July, the Council of Ministers defined that the risk level in the covid-19 pandemic monitoring matrix would be fixed at 480 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days instead of the previous 240, deciding also that there would no longer be measures differentiated by councils. The new monitoring is due to the evolution of vaccination in the country, with the municipalities at the “alert” level becoming those whose incidence exceeds 240 cases.
Also on the rise are the municipalities at high risk (between 240 and 479.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days), since the bulletin counts 24 municipalities in this category, while in the previous report there were 18.
According to the bulletin, between 120 and 239.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days are 58 municipalities, eight more than in the previous week. Between 60 and 199.9 cases there are 83 counties and between 20 and 59 cases per 100,000 inhabitants 88. With an incidence of less than 20 cases, the lowest risk level, there are 48 counties. There are still 23 municipalities with an incidence of zero cases in the period analyzed. This means that most Portuguese municipalities (277 municipalities) remain at the lowest risk levels on the scale of the health authorities.
In the explanatory note of the data by municipality, it is stated that a cumulative incidence “corresponds to the quotient between the number of new confirmed cases in the 14 days prior to the moment of analysis and the estimated resident population”.
