Pisa, was attacked in the street: old man dies after 17 days of agony
The 79-year-old pensioner who was attacked in a street in Pisa on 17 October last, perhaps to rob him, by a 33-year-old Romanian woman, who was arrested shortly after by the police and is still in prison, died after 17 days of agony. The man had suffered deep head injuries and was hospitalized on a confidential prognosis. The attack took place on Sunday morning in a residential area of the city near a pastry bar and also thanks to the testimonies collected on the spot, the police quickly tracked down the author and arrested her, even if the motive for the attack has not yet been clarified.
The suspicion of an attempted robbery supported by the specific precedents of which it is burdened the woman now in prison and who has always refused to answer the investigators’ questions on the reasons for the attack on the 79-year-old. The body of the pensioner, Alberto Barsanti, was transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for the autopsy, after which the public prosecutor Aldo Mantovani will probably requalify the charge by contesting the murder instead of the very serious injuries to the arrested person.
