Belarus is in the top 5 world exporters of dairy products

Belarus is one of the five world leaders in the export of condensed milk, butter, whey and cheese. Our country accounts for 6% of the world trade in dairy products.
At the same time, the share of the EAEU countries accounts for 9.1% of world milk production. The share of Belarus in the mutual trade of dairy products in the EAEU is about 85%. According to the analysts, Belarus is consistently among the five suppliers of exporters in the world, occupying about 12% of world cheese exports. In addition, in the structure of butter exports in 2020, 7.7% of exports go to Belarus.
Today dairy products are one of the most important export items of Belarus.
According to the Milk Market Observatory report for June 2021, Belarus ranks 2nd in the world in the export of condensed milk, 3rd in the export of butter and whey powder, 4th in the export of cheese, 5th in the export of dry skim milk.
In 2020, the share of dairy products in all exports of agricultural products amounted to 42.0%, and in total exports of Belarus – 8.2%.
More than 80% of all exports of dairy products go to Russia. For 2016-2020 The volume of exports of milk and dairy products in physical terms shows an average growth of 0.7% annually, while a similar periodic compound average annual growth rate of exports was 8.4%.
