Travelers from Norway, Sweden and Poland must now follow additional entry rules when reaching Spain
Travelers from Norway, Sweden and Poland are now subject to additional entry rules when traveling to Spain as the countries have been placed on the latter’s high risk list.
In last week’s update, only ten regions in Norway, seven regions in Sweden and seven regions in Poland were on the list. However, as the epidemiological situation in these countries has worsened over the past seven days, their entire territory is now part of the high-risk list, reports SchengenVisaInfo.com.
Based on World Health Organization (WHO) figures, Poland has reported 4,904 new cases of covid-19 in the last 24 hours, while Norway has only reported 153 cases. Sweden, on the other hand, has not registered any new infections during this period.
In addition to the three countries, other regions that have also been added to Spain’s high risk list are:
- Regions in France: Grand Est, Hauts de France, Réunion, Normandy, Occitanie
- Regions in Italy: Emilia Romagna, Lazio
The full list of Italy’s high-risk regions now includes Calabria, Campagna, Emilia-Romagna, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Marche, the province of Bolzano, Sicily, Tuscany and Venice. As for the other regions of France, they remain the same, just like in last week’s update.
Based on the current entry rules that Spain has, all travelers entering its territory from Norway, Sweden, Poland or any of the regions of France and Italy must present evidence of immunization against Coronavirus disease with one of the approved vaccines doses or evidence of recovery.

The other EU / Schengen countries that are also on Spain’s high risk list are Greece, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Liechtenstein, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Cyprus, Croatia, Slovakia, Estonia, Slovenia, Finland, Ireland, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Romania and Luxembourg. .
In addition, this week’s update has once again emphasized that the list of epidemiologically safe third countries has remained unchanged.
The list of third countries that have a stable situation with covid-19 and that may travel to Spain even for non-essential purposes includes Saudi Arabia, Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Chile, China, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Kuwait, New Zealand, Qatar, Rwanda, Singapore, Ukraine, Uruguay, Taiwan and the Hong Kong and Macao administrative regions.
Earlier, SchengenVisaInfo.com reported that Spain had extended its entry ban on arrivals from third countries until 30 November.
